Tacos de Canasta Los Especiales in Mexico City

The place is worst, trash can are in eating area, looks like a jail.

This is by far one of my must dos when in Mexico City. The tacos here are the absolute best!!!

Tacos are delicious and so affordable! I will go back for more. Usually a long line but do not let that put you off! It moves really fast.

As one of the top comments say, takos are good of size and taste but there's indeed some work for the cleanness of this place, the toilets and the impersonal treatment they give you.

Best tacos I had in Mexico city! Very affordable too. I would definitely recommend this place! Note that it can get cramped inside when busy, but if you're not too fussy about eating tacos while standing, this is a great place to visit.

This place is so delicious! I like coming here, many fond memories... I really recommend this place for Turists because it's a healthy place. All they sell "tacos de canasta," but you won't regret it.

You can't beat the flavour being sold for just 7 pesos per taco. I would highly recommend you try every taco on the menu.

Best tacos (de canasta) in town. Fast food and always a long queue. If you're lucky you can find a spot inside, there you will also find the salsa and the other condiments. You can also take them to go (protip: you can freeze tacos de canasta and enjoy the coming days, but who am I kidding, you will want to eat them right there on the spot, so delicious)

Tacos, tacos, tacos!!!!! If you want to taste one of the many iterations of this Mexican dish called tacos. You may eat "tacos de canasta" at the walk-by restaurant "Los Especiales". Basket tacos are a common and not expensive mexican dish, from a mashed potatoes tacos, pork rinds with sauce tacos or the fried beans tacos with a side of guacamole and vinegar cured jalapenos peppers! This place is located in the main downtown of Mexico City at the Madero Avenue now a vehicle closed street only for pedestrians. At this "Los Especiales" place you can eat and go. Prices are very cheap and tacos with an amazing taste! Enjoy/Provechito!

Great value taco place

A local institution. Don't be discouraged by the long queue, it's well deserved and it proceeds quickly thanks to the machinelike efficence of the ordering process. And for (very) few pesos you will taste some of the best tacos in town!

It is an interesting place, where the prices are really affordable! There is no parking lot because it’s located on an alleyway.I arrived around 10:30 so it was empty, BUT at the time I finished, the line was so long! The taste is pretty good, and the variety of the tacos is aceptable.A funny fact is that the tacos are made of 2 tortillas... I recommend it 😊

Tacos de Canasta in the historical district. Very inexpensive with good tacos and a drink for 50 pesos. There's a huge line out front which is a great sign! Standing room only to eat on the inside. The green sauce is pretty good and tasty. They serve your tacos from three huge tubs with pre-made tacos. The place itself is crowded and not very clean, but there's some live music in the back.

Go for the experience! Line moves fast, tasty greasy comfort food tacos. (avoid the beef. avoid the lettuce in the back. stick to pork and bean tacos). Know what you want when you order, this is NOT a place to ask questions or to get good service.

Tacos are tasty and you can't beat the price. Just make sure to come with reasonable expectations. When your spending less than $.50 a taco you can't expect a whole lot, but they're tasty as hell. Just watch out for the green stuff, it's not guac and it's crazy spicy, and load up on napkins.

Fast food.. decent tacos .. not my first choice but good. Very busy. Hard to get a a seat if you have a big group. I preferred the verde

"tacos de canasta" are extremely popular in Mexico City. So I decided to visit since there is always a very very long line. To my surprise, it moves quite quickly. I ordered 4 tacos. 2 adobo and 2 chicharrón en salsa verde. They are like 2 tacos in 1 so very filling. They are not the very best but they are not bad at all and tacos are $7 pesos each. Place inside is always full so you have to hunt down seats or just eat standing up. You serve yourself the salsa and /or jalapeños as you please once inside. There are restrooms at the very back. I recommend the place for a quick satisfying meal.

My favorite place to eat canasta tacos every time I visit Ciudad de Mexico. I have been coming to this place since 2010. I don't mind standing in line, there is a reason why they are always busy.

We were in Zocalo and it looked like it was about to rain. We walked around and saw a huuuuuuuuuuuge line here so we also got on line. The special is 5 tacos. We ordered one special each (5 tacos and a drink) and we were given chips. We got 5 tacos per person and a drink (most got coke I got fanta) and sat on a stool lining the wall. The salsas and pickled vegetables were on the side in multiple spota around the area. It was delicious. And filling. And cheap. But awesome tacos. I can see why the line was out the door. Literally.
